Starbucks FlavOff Frappuccino Review

If you search for Starbucks on Pinterest, one pin pops up more than any other. The  pin with the “Secret Starbucks Menu”. Ever hear of it? It’s a compilation of drinks created by baristas and customers alike. There are some really fun and inventive ones – Fuzzy Peach, Birthday Cake, Snickers Bar. To celebrate their customers’ favorites, Starbucks has introduced six fan favorite frappuccinos for a limited time. They’re calling it the Frappuccino FlavOff and it’s pretty sweet.

Husband and I have tried all six, and I’d like to share my thoughts with you. Here are the six offerings from Starbucks, ranked.

Cotton Candy: Vanilla Bean Frapp with Raspberry Syrup.

This is one bright pink frapp. I love that. The taste is a very delicate touch of raspberry with a good kick of vanilla. Very berries and cream. Cotton candy tasting? Not exactly, but still pretty tasty.

Lemon Bar: Crème Frapp with Lemonade and Caramel Crunch Topping

This is the only frapp that I will say I did not enjoy and would not order again. They add lemonade into the dairy base so the two liquids separate pretty easily. The taste was just odd to me. Too much lemon with a too sweet base.

Red Velvet: Crème Frapp with Mocha Syrup, Raspberry Syrup, Vanilla Syrup and Java Chips

This was the prettiest of all the frapps. It seriously looks like a cup of red velvet cake, bright red with hints of chocolate. However, it kinda fails on the taste front. It doesn’t taste like red velvet, it tastes like chocolate covered raspberries. Not a bad thing, but not what is advertised. I also thought it would be amazing to have a slightly cream cheese whipped topping.

Cupcake: Crème Frapp with Hazelnut Syrup and Vanilla Powder

Hands down, my favorite. It seriously tastes like a fluffy vanilla cupcake. I’ve ordered this more often than anything else lately. SO good.

Caramel Cocoa Cluster: Toffee Nut Frapp with Dark Caramel Sauce and Mocha Syrup

This reminds me of a sticky, nutty, chocolately piece of candy. A very nutty and caramel-y base with hits of mocha. Very tasty.

Cinnamon Roll: Cinnamon Dolce Frapp with Vanilla Powder and White Mocha Syrup

This is absolutely delicious. I think if you dropped a Cinnabon cinnamon roll and a scoop of vanilla ice cream in a blender, this is what it would taste like. The cinnamon did not overpower at all.

RUNNER UP: Cinnamon Roll

THIRD PLACE: Caramel Cocoa Cluster

The winner of the FlavOff will be announced soon and the winning flavor will be offered in a grande size for $3.00 from July 3-6.

What do you think of the flavors? If you’re not feeling any of these offerings, check out the Starbucks Secret Menu website and see what other fans have come up with!
